Shortlisted for a NLA award, featured in RIBA J Public Realm 2018, shortlisted for 3 Property Marketing Awards and winner of PMA Best Creative Element 2018.

Collaborating with Fathom Architects and responding to a brief by creative agency dn&co we developed and costructed this 3.4m x 3.4m x 3.4m  cube.

The Pod, located in White City Place, formerly home to the BBC, is a moveable temporary structure for the recording of podcasts.

The 12sqm pod seats up to six people and provides a fully functional studio.

With only three months between initial consultation and completed project delivery it was an ambitious brief.

We provided a fully weather proof, glazed, air conditioned, fully-mobile unit (with underfloor heating!)

The client needed the finished article to ‘appear from nowhere’ so we delivered over night and had The Pod ready to go before first light.

We continue to operate ongoing maintenance for the life of the project.

A bold patterned façade was generated from the first spoken words transmitted by radio: “One, two, three, four. Is it snowing where you are Mr Thiessen?”

A bespoke digital script was developed to translate the recording into 350,000 printed pixels using a colour palette drawn from the development’s branding.

Since its launch, The Pod has featured in several international publications including  Design Week, Creative Review, and Wallpaper who featured it in the pick of their favourite pavilions.
